Drug Education is vital to an informed society

Whether speaking, videos, or writing, drug education is important for a variety of reasons.

Educate our youth

We need to educate our youth about drug and alcohol abuse, addiction and alcoholism in an honest and respectful manner. Give them the facts in a manner that helps them recognize risks and consequences.

Educate society

Drug abuse and addiction affects us all in society in one way or another, so we adults must educate ourselves so that we know the facts, the risks and the consequences. We’re currently experiencing the biggest surge in heroin, opioid and opiate overdoses and deaths that we’ve ever seen in history. Alcoholism still affects far too many people’s live and families are torn apart from drugs like crystal meth and cocaine just to name a few.

An uninformed populace is one at risk

The first step in dealing with drug problems is understanding them. Being informed about the signs and symptoms, the short term and long term effects, and what withdrawal symptoms are to be expected. Being informed and educated means you can make informed decisions and hopefully help yourself, or help someone else, or avoid the need for help altogether because you made healthy decisions. Getting high seems fun until the inevitable consequences show up on one’s doorstep.

Educate yourself and reach out for help when you or a loved one is experiencing problems from drugs or alcohol.
